UCLA music students open press conference for Mötley Crüe\'s final tour

Eight brass players, seven of whom are UCLA\'s master\'s students in the Herb Alpert School of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, played a one of a kind New Orleans-style mash-up of Mötley Crüe songs at a press conference held Jan. 28, 2014 announcing the band\'s final tour. The ensemble included UCLA students Marc Bolin (tuba and musical arrangement), Eric Miller (trombone), Mike Cottone (trumpet), Erick Jovel (trumpet), Tristan Hurd (trumpet), Jonathan Pinson (percussion) and Josh Johnson (alto saxophone); and UCLA alumnus John Montgomery (drums). Together, they set the mood for Mötley Crüe\'s grand entrance at the funeral themed event, held at Hollywood\'s Roosevelt Hotel and attended by throngs of journalists.
