Housed in the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA, the Monk Institute Jazz Outreach Program allows the gifted Fellows of the Thelonious Monk Institute Ensemble to share their talent with future generations of musicians. Monk Fellows experiment in expanding jazz in new directions, while honing their skills through study with legendary architects of the music including Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. Using this knowledge, the Fellows present clinics and master classes, perform at community and international events, and teach private lessons to students throughout greater Los Angeles.
